Caitriona Balfe (Claire Randall Fraser), Sam Heughan (Jamie Fraser)- Outlander Season 3 (Starz)

It’s finally here, the uber-romantic reunion of Claire and Jamie — and Outlander fans are freaking out about it.

Outlander fans have waited half a season to see Claire (Caitriona Balfe) journey back in time to Scotland to be reunited with Jamie (Sam Heughan), the love of her life and father to her grown daughter, Brianna (Sophie Skelton). Suffice to say, the reunion did not disappoint. It was heart-stoppingly romantic, but still managed to work in a bit of humor and adventure as well. It also introduced a couple highly anticipated book characters, like Mr. Willoughby (Gary Young) and young Ian Murray (John Bell), so read on for the best fan reactions on social media.

Spoiler warning: Stop here if you haven’t watched Outlander season 3, episode 6, “A. Malcolm,” yet.

1. Claire and Jamie kiss

Print Shop; Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe); Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) (Starz)

It was lovely (and kind of funny) to watch Claire and Jamie see each other for the first time after 20 years, because Jamie faints dead away at the sight of his lost love. But the scene built up to their first kiss in a long time and it was well worth the wait and anticipation.

“I would very much like to kiss you. May I?” asks the ever-so-polite Jamie.’I have not done this in a very long time.” And then it happens! The music swells, they’re in each other’s arms and then the sound of millions of fans swooning can be heard worldwide.

2. Brianna and Willie

Sophie Skelton in Outlander season 2 (Starz)

After their tear-stained reunion, Jamie and Claire have a lot to talk about, so they go up to his little bedroom above the print shop and start getting to know each other once again.

A big part of this involves telling each other about their children. Claire brought photographs of Brianna with her to show Jamie his daughter — and the technology blows his mind. But once he’s over the initial shock, Jamie says Brianna has red hair “like Faith,” an emotional acknowledgment of the daughter they lost in France.

Then it’s Jamie’s turn. He confesses to Claire that he has a son. He didn’t love the boy’s mother and he blames himself for her death, which happened during childbirth, but he loves his son, even though he’ll most likely never see the boy again.

It’s enough to make you start crying all over again, especially thinking about when Jamie had to say goodbye to Willie two episodes ago. Poor Jamie, he has essentially lost three children.

Though some fans objected to this change from the books, that it should have been Brianna’s moment alone.

3. Claire reunites with Fergus

Market; Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan); Fergus (César Domboy); Fergus (César Domboy) (Starz)

When Claire and Jamie take off from the print shop, guess who they run into on the street? Fergus (played as an adult by Cesar Domboy), who is overjoyed at Claire’s return. And her story about leaving for the Colonies when she thought Jamie was dead isn’t even a total lie.

Fans were almost as excited about the Fergus reunion as they were about the Jamie one — and they all agree that Fergus has grown into one handsome young man.

4. Mr. Willoughby

Mr. Willoughby is a somewhat controversial character in the books, as he is often portrayed with broad, stereotypical strokes. The show’s producers told us during an interview that they wanted to include him in the show, because he’s important to the plot of “Voyager,” but they wanted to change some of the more problematic aspects of his character.

Fans were generally in favor of the show’s iteration of Mr. Willoughby, who will go on to play an even bigger role as the show moves forward.

5. Claire and Jamie make love

After a busy day of reuniting, paying off prostitutes and meeting with tax men, Jamie and Claire retire to his room in a local brothel — a shock to Claire’ until she’s convinced he’s not a customer of the brothel — and realize that they’re almost strangers to each other. So they eat dinner and simply talk to each other, which is certainly just as important as their physical reunion.

But after dinner, the two make love and it’s wonderful. The scene echoes the nervousness of their wedding night from season 1, and even has some laugh-out-loud moments because they definitely are like fumbling teenagers. But once things get serious, it’s the steamy, sexy scene fans have been waiting six episodes for.

6. Claire meets Ian Murray and is attacked

The next morning, Claire stays in Jamie’s room while he goes out to attend to some business. When young Ian drops by, Claire introduces herself as his aunt and he says that the women back at Lallybroch talk about her like she’s a’white lady” (read: witch), or possibly a fairy. But her story is that she left Scotland for the Colonies after she thought Jamie died at Culloden (which isn’t a total lie). Young Ian is about as cute as a button and viewers are big fans of him, even after such a short meeting.

And then, because this is Outlander, the episode ends on a dramatic cliffhanger when an unnamed man attacks Claire in Jamie’s bedroom, demanding to see Jamie’s ledgers and threatening to rape her — which fans were not crazy about.

Overall, though, it seems as though the #PrintShop reunion darn near broke Twitter.

Outlander airs Sundays on Starz.
