Breakdown of 2020 Movie Delays, and When They Will Hit Theaters

After much hemming and hawing, Disney finally decides to release the live-action remake of Mulan on Disney+... for a price.

So far, 2020 has been unpredictable, as movie studios and the film industry at large scramble to respond to an ever-changing global crisis. In early March, it was announced that the release date of the latest James Bond film (and Daniel Craig’s final outing in the role), No Time to Die, was being postponed from April to November, and it was only a matter of time before others followed suit. Sure enough, a whole slew of films have now announced release date changes, and not all of them have pinned down exactly when they plan to open. Most recently, after Disney announced a host of schedule changes for its upcoming films, including the planned Avatar sequels and future Star Wars films, the studio finally chose to release the much-anticipated live-action Mulan on Disney+… for a price.

Read on for the full list of films that have postponed their opening weekends in 2020, and be sure to check back for updates as they are announced. [Updated on 8/6/20.]
