This week on streaming video, the most notable new release is the blockbuster follow-up to 2011’s immensely successful Planet of the Apes franchise reboot, but Netflix is also delivering some noteworthy classics, like a beloved Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker comedy, a certain Oscar-winning Scottish epic from Mel Gibson, a dark David Fincher thriller starring Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman, and a Jim Carrey/Jeff Daniels comedy whose sequel arrives in theaters next week. Read on for details:

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

In the decade since the rise of intelligent primates, humans and apes have lived separately, maintaining an uneasy peace. But when a group of people find an energy source in ape territory, the stage is set for an epic battle to determine which race will triumph.
