Amazon’s long-awaited fourth season of The Expanse finally has a premiere date: Dec. 13. The space series was cancelled by Syfy in May 2018, but was rescued by Amazon Prime Video just a few weeks later.

The new premiere date was announced at the series’ 2019 San Diego Comic-Con panel, where the creators also revealed new information about the upcoming season.

Per the official description, the season “begins a new chapter for the series with the crew of the Rocinante on a mission from the U.N. to explore new worlds beyond the Ring Gate. Humanity has been given access to thousands of Earth-like planets which has created a land rush and furthered tensions between the opposing nations of Earth, Mars and the Belt. Ilus is the first of these planets, one rich with natural resources but also marked by the ruins of a long dead alien civilization. While Earthers, Martians and Belters maneuver to colonize Ilus and its natural resources, these early explorers don’t understand this new world and are unaware of the larger dangers that await them.”

  • For Life: Inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., For Life is a fictional serialized legal and family drama about a prisoner who becomes a lawyer, litigating cases for other inmates while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit.
  • United We Fall: Jo and Bill juggle their two young kids, Bill’s judgmental live-in mother, and Jo’s large, Latinx Catholic family, while having each other’s backs and being united against everyone – other parents, teachers, doctors, specialists, coaches, co-workers and, especially, their kids.

New Shows — NBC

  • Council of Dads: A loving father of four calls on a few of his closest allies to step in as back-up dads following a personal health scare.
  • Lincoln: Based on the best-selling book The Bone Collector, the series follows former NYPD detective and forensic genius Lincoln Rhyme and his new partner, Amelia Sachs, as they join forces to crack the city’s most confounding cases, all while working to bring down a notorious serial killer.
  • Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist: A whip-smart computer coder, following an unusual event, starts to hear the innermost wants and desires of the people around her through songs.

New Shows — Fox

  • 9-1-1: Lone Star: 9-1-1 expands its reach to the city of Austin, TX, with its first-ever new installment starring Rob Lowe as a sophisticated New York cop who, along with his son, relocates to Austin and must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in his own life.
  • Deputy: When the Los Angeles County’s Sheriff dies, an arcane rule forged back in the Wild West thrusts the most unlikely man into the job: a fifth-generation lawman more comfortable taking down bad guys than navigating a sea of politics, who won’t rest until justice is served.
  • Filthy Rich: When the patriarch of a mega-rich Southern family, famed for creating a wildly successful Christian television network, dies in a plane crash, his wife and family are stunned to learn that he fathered three illegitimate children, all of whom are written into his will, threatening their family name and fortune.

  • Duncanville: An animated family comedy centered around a spectacularly average 15-year-old boy with a rich fantasy life, and the people in his world.
  • The Great North: The animated comedy follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, as a single dad does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close, especially as the artistic dreams of his only daughter lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall.

New Shows — CBS

  • Tommy: Edie Falco stars as true-blue New Yorker Abigail “Tommy” Thomas, a former high-ranking NYPD officer who becomes the first female Chief of Police for Los Angeles. Thomas uses her unflinching honesty and hardball tactics to keep social, political, and national security issues from hindering effective law enforcement in the Southland.
  • FBI: Most Wanted: A new high-stakes drama from Dick Wolf and the team behind FBI and the Law & Order franchise, the series focuses on the Fugitive Task Force, which relentlessly tracks and captures notorious criminals on the Bureau’s Most Wanted list. Seasoned agent Jess LaCroix (Julian McMahon) oversees the highly skilled team, which functions as a mobile undercover unit that’s always out in the field, pursuing those who are most desperate to elude justice.

New Shows — The CW
